Prequel
In this future museum, exhibits are presented as factual by your unreliable chatbot, Bernays AI. By challenging his narrative, you can uncover the truth behind these historical deceptions. The game involves three markers, each experienced as a museum exhibit:
Marker 1: The Great Moon Hoax – A series of stories published by the US newspaper “The Sun” in 1835.
Marker 2: The Authentychon – Three fake images from the 1900s in the US, Italy, and the USSR.
Marker 3: #eLiza – The story of an influencer in 2030 who inadvertently leads to the collapse of the EU.
Playtime: 15-20 minutes

Postcards from the Future
Visitors can envision possible futures resulting from disinformation and devise ways to counter them. We provide 8 suggestive scenarios on topics like climate change, elections or welfare policies. Visitors can imagine themselves in these potential futures, and elaborate on the fictions by writing on the backside. This is a perfect activity to kick-start discussion on different disinformation narratives, pre-bunking and debunking.
Activity time: 5 minutes
Lookout! Videos a year from now
Let’s use this cool filter! An AI replica tells you all about deepfakes and their endless possibilities. But wait, that photo you took is not so cute after all.
This installation by videographer Alex Lungu and actress Ana Turos explores the potential impact of deepfakes on any individual’s life. The photo taken by visitors is meanwhile overlaid on pre-recorded material, generating an almost real-time deepfake. Visitors can choose for their data to be deleted at the end of the experience.

Created by artist Elena Rabkina, Media Mayhem is a board game where participants take on the role of journalists. Players rotate as Editors-in-Chief, making publishing decisions that balance the validity of news stories with the necessity of attracting audiences through “clickability”.
